House of Myrrh came about in the mid 1970's because of a deep desire to
provide a place where I could share my thoughts on various topics hoping
against hope that at some point it would grow into a brick-and-mortar ministry.
It hasn't… Yet…

The logo has a special place for me. There are so many memories and stories
tied up in this simple logo I want to share a bit of it with you.
First, the name "House of Myrrh" logo was laid out by Jan who was one of
many of us who hung out at Teen Challenge Guam's New Wine Coffee House.
Jan was a newlywed and later her and her husband Paul were the first ever
newlyweds to be allowed to serve upon one of Operation Mobilizations (OM)
ships evangelizing in India and other faraway places.
Secondly, the three crosses are the work of an architect on Guam whose office
was upstairs across from the old Tamuning Post Office, I described what I was
thinking and he reluctantly offered them, they were PERFECT!
Lastly, the background picture was provided later by Rev. Mark Burke, a dear
friend and running buddy from that time period through these days, who pastors
Yigo Church of God Fellowship Center, a
Church of God Ministry to the Military.

If House of Myrrh were to become a brick-and-mortar ministry, instead of a pipe
dream of a web site, what would such a fellowship be like?
It would consider being affiliated with the Assemblies of God
after a review of the Core Doctrines
Emphasis can be found in the name, House of Myrrh,
which can be interpreted to mean a house of bodily preservative.
The reason for this emphasis can be found in my belief that healthy sheep bear
healthy sheep, shepherds don't, that the fivefold ministry of Apostles,
Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists are there to prepare
Jehovah's People for works of service which they can only do if healthy.
